In some cases the lounge is reserved for those travelling in Business or First Class and they’re able to access the business class lounge. And today many airports now also feature independent lounges that are open to all travellers for a small fee, regardless of airline or class of travel. Those include the independent Bid Air Premier Club Lounges that are located in both the domestic and international terminals at most South African Airports.
Absa Platinum Credit card holders can gain free access to Bidvest Lounges at both domestic and international terminals within South Africa.
All they have to do to gain this free access is to spend more than R5 000 on point-of-sale purchases during the month of the lounge visit. Alternatively, spend more than R15 000 on point-of-sale purchases in the three consecutive months prior to their visit, using their Platinum Credit Card.
This will gain them four free domestic and two free international lounge entries every month. Where they’ll be entitled to a stay of 1,5 hours for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights. Secondary Platinum Credit card holders can also benefit from the allocated free lounge visits.
Sip on some beverages, read a newspaper or periodicals or nibble on some food and snacks that are available. International and Domestic Departure Lounges are situated in all the major South African Airports of Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, George and East London.
