How Does FNB Connect’s Rates Compare To the Top Cell Providers in SA

FNB has released the pricing details of its new mobile service FNB Connect, which FNB started offering to clients on 15 June. SIM cards are sold separately from devices, and customers can choose from a range of mobile voice and data products, said FNB. FNB said that the integration of this offering with digital platforms such as FNB’s Online Banking affords customers the benefit of a single login to simultaneously manage their financial and mobile accounts.

Customers will be able to port their existing numbers through FNB’s electronic banking channels.

The core offering will be the Flexi Package, which is unique as customers can manage their account by creating their own mobile package and have the ability to change it every month.

FNB will also be the first to market with a prepaid Auto Top-Up recharge feature where customers will be topped up automatically when their airtime balance drops below R5.

Other self-service options include SIM Swap, Block your SIM, and activation of international roaming calls through online banking.

It is worth noting that MTN is currently running a promotion (Da-taaa!), which offers a bonus data allocation for a limited period on data bundle purchases.

Its 1GB bundle for R160, for example, includes an additional 1GB of data valid for 30 days, effectively making it a 2GB bundle. MTN’s 2GB bundle offers a similar bonus.
